• Association of Consulting Actuaries (ACA): The ACA is the representative body in the UK for individuals practicing as consulting actuaries. The ACA works to promote the profession, research and define policy and providing guidance to its members. The site contains a searchable listing of all its members and their professional specialisms which could provide useful information for networking. It is also possible to access news releases, policy documents, publications and research papers to obtain interesting background information on this sector.
• The Actuary: This is the official magazine for the actuarial profession. The current edition and archived magazines can be read online and includes features on careers, sector specific news and industry updates. Within the 'regulars ' section there is a 'student& #039; subsection which contains articles aimed at and about student studying for actuarial qualifications . There is also a searchable online vacancy database (follow 'job search' link).
• The Actuarial Profession: The Actuarial Profession is the UK professional body for Actuaries. It is made up of the two chartered professional bodies, The Institute of Actuaries and the Faculty of Actuaries, working together. This site contains a careers section which can be accessed either by clicking on 'How do I become an actuary?' or 'careers& #039;. Here you can find information that introduces what being an actuary involves, areas of work, details of professional qualifications and training. Their graduate brochure can be downloaded as a PDF as well as a list of graduate employers by following the 'undergra duate and graduate' link.
